Frequently Asked Questions: (and their answers)
What is Dog Agility?
What's the difference between Agility and Jumping ?

How old does my dog have to be before we can start training in Agility ?

It is a requirement of most clubs, including the Agility Dog Club of S.A., that all dogs be twelve months old before undertaking any
training in this sport, because so many of the obstacles demand or encourage the dog to jump, which is not wise until their bones and joints are mature.
With some breeds, the Chief Instructor may make the decision that even a little more maturity is needed.
It is an A.N.K.C. ruling that a dog must be eighteen months old before competing in Agility or Jumping trials.
